The break down on how to mount a wheelz set to your ride

Whether you're a seasoned mechanic or just a mom trying to give a badass birthday gift, no one wants to stress about getting your new wheel set mounted on your vehicle. Below is a general step-by-step breakdown on how to install the wheels. We say general because there will be some variation depending on vehicle type, axle type, drive configuration etc- but these general guidelines hold true.

Wheel Installation Instructions

  • Remove stock wheels
  • If you have a threaded shaft, save nut to reuse later
  • Leave front axle washers on axel
  • Apply grease to shafts

Front axle:

  • Slide front axle spacer onto shaft (reuse washer already on axle)
  • Slide wheel onto shaft, mating center hexagon of wheel to spacer hexagon
  • If axel is threaded, tighten nut to end of axel. If axel is a solid shaft, mate end cap hexagon to rim center and fasten set screw.
  • If there is a gap between the wheel and the nut or end cap, add washers to fill that gap as needed.

Rear axle:

  • Slide rear drive adapter onto shaft; mate to drive
  • Slide wheel onto shaft, mating center hexagon of wheel to adapter hexagon
  • If axel is threaded, tighten nut to end of axel. If axel is a solid shaft, mate end cap hexagon to rim center and fasten set screw.
  • If there is a gap between the wheel and the nut or end cap, add washers to fill that gap as needed.
